I woke up today and I was planning to finally make a nice vanilla cake and the filling would be a vanilla buttercream with strawberry pouree or like a coulis. A couli is like a thin sort of jam but it’s taste much better than store bought jam and it has a different texture. I’m really good at decorating cakes but I was still looking for the perfect vanilla cake recipe. I found one and I baked it. I mostly ever bake cakes because my family is small and my parents don’t really like to eat sugar so basically I am the one who eats the sweet stuff... but I do get some help from my little 4 year old brother. So after I baked the cakes for about 40 minutes which is the normal time for cakes they weren’t done because they were still completely raw except for the outside. I let it cook for another like 10 minutes and it was still raw but the outside was cooked but not the inside. I got confused since this never happened to me since I have baked SOME cakes before. This was a new oven and wasn’t even that old because it is one of the new ones that came out a couple of years ago. I cooked it for about 20 more minutes and it looked ready but when I inserted a toothpick the inside still was raw. I looked up on google why it was happening and it said to just put aluminum foil on the parts that aren’t cooking but I was out of that. I looked up another reason and it said that my oven was too hot and the outside was cooking faster than the inside but the normal temperature was 350 degrees for a cake. If this happens you have to invest in an oven thermometer which tells you if your oven is off or over some degrees and I still haven’t got it but I have to invest in it because it will help with my baking. I decided to make a new batch of cake but it did the same thing. I just gave up because it has taken me like 5 hours and I got frustrated. I tasted the outside of the cake and it was REALLY sweet and everything just turned into a fail. The rest of my day was bad and next time when I’m trying different vanilla cake recipes I am going to make a smaller batch of each different recipe to see which one is the best tasting and not too sweet. 😰😂

We are the #weirdosquad #2
Today there isint really much to write about but my friend Litzy came over my house. Her mom was going to a doctors appointment and she didn’t want to stay alone so she decided to come to my house. We played/made slime then my mom called us to eat. It wasn’t the best but we ate black beans and breaded chicken but Litzy didn’t eat that much while I ate like 3 plates of that. Then we ate w slime and we also took weird pictures because Litzy is weird. I would insert one of the pictures but that will be embarrassing. We didn’t do much today only make slime and play with it... that’s all until her dad came to pick her up. Earlier today I just watched videos of many vanilla cake recipes because I could never find a good recipe. So I’m sitting in the couch doing this blog and I have nothing much to write about so I am going to end this here.

Missing out on a fun, far away trip ? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜° #1
Well, two days ago my dad just got the money to pay for my springfield trip and he had already filled out the paper and I was ready to turn it in. When I got to school I couldn’t wait for Social Studies to come even though I hated it but I was only excited to turn in the papers. When Social studies came we did CNN 10 like we regularly do. When we were done I stood up and handed the paper to Ms.Raguso. Right away when I handed them in she said that it was too late and that they have already had paid and ordered the tickets and I was like.... WHY ?! Now my other friends are going and I get to do nothing and dream how much fun I would of had if I was there. 😠They are even going to pass to McDonalds and NOT ME 😢. They will also have fancy buses and those fancy buses have plugs to charge your phone, T.V’s, and much more fancy things which I am going to miss! 😠Today, my dad told me to tell my social studies teacher If I at least could get my $20 back that I already had paid since the beggining. I also wanted to tell her if I could buy whatever the the tickets were for maybe for the bus or the museum we were going to. So I wanted to tell her if I could buy them on my own and then go with everyone but I positive she will say no. I have never gone to Springfield or out of state and I have only been in nearby towns not Springfield. The day they go I am going to cry my eyes out ðŸ˜. This is the worst day ever. 😥

The Secret Language of Sisters
About the Characters
This is The Secret Language of Sisters. The main characters are Roo and Tilly which are their nicknames but other characters are mom, Newton who is Tillys boyfriend. The genre for this book is Fiction.Summary
Roo was calmly on her way to pick up her sisters from a museum. As she drives her sister Tilly is inpatient and keeps sending her messages. Roo isn't the type of person that texts and drives but she had to answer her sister. She went on a road that wasn’t busy and saw no cars, but as she went to text there was an old lady and a dog crossing the street and something unexpected happened. Her car flipped on a frozen creek... upside down and nobody there to help. She ends up in the hospital and while she is there she suffers. Roo can understand what her sister says to her but no one knows that she is trapped and screaming for help. She is trying to speak to her sister but she just can’t.Why it’s unique ! This book is interesting because It is really intense and foreshadows a lot. It has a lot of cliff hangers so it is really intense and interesting so see what happens to Tilly after the accident. This book is unique because it has different points of view so it switches between both main characters, Tilly and Roo. I like that because you know the point of view of other character so it makes it more interesting and makes it a unique book.

Why did it have to end so fast? ðŸ˜
It’s 1:35pm I’m rushing to get to my next class. Time is ticking we are 1/4 way through the quarter and I still can’t figure out how to open the classroom door or the secret identity of my ELA teacher. (I’m being sarcastic ). Is she an alien from outerspace? Or is she spongebob that lives in a pineapple under the sea? No! She is a HUMAN, not spongebob.. Or is she? Oh we will never know!
Anyway I am way off topic... I’m kind of used to 8th grade but I have my classes schedule memorized which is a good thing. I feel like quarter one wasn’t my best and in quarter 2 I am definitely trying even more to just get 3’s and 4’s and kick the butt’s out of those 1’s and 2’s! This quarter I got about 7 2’s which is terrible! I asked my teachers if they could help me through quarter 2 to try to get to my goal. I asked them to correct me if I’m wrong. To tell me if I participate enough or what I still need to achieve. If I want to get to a nice high school I need to work harder. I do not want to end up in Morton the most horrible high school ever. They don’t even have air conditioning! To get into Fenwick you need to pass a really long test about 2-3 hours and in between you get 1 hour to take a break and eat. They mostly look at the test more than your report card but at the end they do end up looking at it.

Connections to the Outsiders
I read “Healing Brick a City” In the article “Healing Brick City” it states “I looked up at the board, and ‘Don Moses’ [was] written on the board in the trauma room. I’m like, ‘Wow, I know that name,” and right below was written the word ‘deceased.’ So, I’m sitting in there, looking at the board and thinking, ‘What are the chances that this is the Don Moses that I know?’ And unfortunately, I sprinted down to the surgical ICU3 and his body was taken away, but his family was there. It was the Don Moses that I knew from childhood.” The connection to the Outsiders is that one of Pony boys beloved friend dies (Johnny) in the hospital. This also happened to Sampson Davis. When he was working he saw his close friend on the board which means he died and was at the hospital.
The next connection I saw was “Snake and I was a part of a team that committed an armed robbery when I was 17 1/2. And I often say 17 1/2 because had I been 18, my story would have been written differently. But it was that life experience that changed me around. I was sentenced to two years’ probation.” The outsiders are based on almost Greasers. Greasers are kind of like a gang which they fight and rob just like what Sampson Davis did when he was younger. Dally was in prison for stealing, stealing, and drinking somewhat like Sampson and his friend Don Moses which he was sentenced two years probation.
Then the passage states again “When you look at mental illness, in the inner city community particularly, it’s taboo. It’s almost like, ‘I can’t say to another person that I’m depressed, because it destroys, especially as a man talking to another man, it destroys the ‘man code,’ if you will.” This connects to the Outsiders because when Johnny was in the Hospital almost dying Ponyboy gets so depressed and sick because he is scared Johnny is going to die. After Johnny dies Ponyboy is even more depressed because Johnny was his closest friend and now he doesn’t have the courage to do things but he still fights in the big rumble. The movie is somewhat similar and different to the book.

Battle of the Books and Movies
The outsiders book and the movie both have similarities and differences. One of the similarities between the book and the movie is one of the scenes in the movie was when Cherry and the boys were walking then the car pulls up. Cherry says that she doesn't want to fights and that she hates fighting. Next, in another scene Both Johnny and Ponyboy fall asleep in the park. Then Johnny and Ponyboy run away from Dally because Dally hit Ponyboy. These are the similarities between the book and the movie.
The differences between the book and the movie is that the movie was shortened up and the setting was a faster plot than the book. The movie was a shortened version since the regular movie is like three hours but the one we saw was one hour. The next difference is when they don’t show when Johnny got beat up in the beginning In the movie but they did show it in the book. These are the differences between the book and the movie.
I personally think that the movie is better than the book but then at the same I feel like they both are amazing. I myself like movies because you could actually see the characters and how they act and look like. These are the similarities and differences between the book and the movie.
